Beginning
The world he knew was gone. Friends, family, places he hung out...almost all of it vanished as quickly as blinking. By the time he had woken up in the hospital, only monsters remained. Though there were occasionally friendly demons such as Pixie, others were less so, hungry for his flesh. And even after escaping, all that awaited him were ruined buildings and a vast desert. Humanity was seemingly gone.
As he walked past the park, still journeying with the Pixie companion he had, he saw a figure wandering about. Seemed human enough? Naoki wanted to believe someone was alive. Maybe there were more survivors than he originally thought. Carefully he approached them, taking slow steps behind them. At a decent enough distance, he finally called out.
"Hey! You're human, right?"

The weird thing was, she felt like someone was following her but every time she looked over her shoulder, no one was there. She held onto Sidia bit more as she glanced around. If she learned anything from her training, it was to be cautious and alert. At the very least she could retaliate if she's aware. When a voice called out to her, she was about to pull the sword in self defense but stopped when they asked if she was human.
"Huh?" she's a bit confused. She hadn't seen human beings yet but she was sure that this is the society of humans, "Yes?" she tilted her head, "That's an odd question to ask. Who are you?"?
Getting to the point.

Still, had to be cautious in turn, his Pixie companion choosing to rest on his shoulder. "Naoki Kashima. And uh...well the world is kinda dead right now."
no subject
"The-- world is ... dead? That's a funny way to put it. How so? There's buildings and trees-- though I guess there's a lack of people here."
She looked around still noticing things as well, "Naoki, nice to meet ya. I'm Ishtar and you might think I'm crazy but I'm not from here-- whatever here is. I am from somewhere else and I just somehow ended up here. I'm not sure how or why though. Did something happen to this world? Are you okay?"
Maybe there are too many questions at once but she's genuinely concerned.

Reality itself felt as if it were under attack. Just about anything could happen, and he wouldn't doubt it. He already fought in some life-or-death battles, so he was calmer than Ishtar might expect. Though maybe he still couldn't fully register the weight of everything.
He put a hand to his forehead, closing his eyes and sighing. Had to explain everything huh? Recounting it wasn't good for his health, but neither was keeping people in the dark and making them distrust him. It was best if everyone knew who the real enemy was.
"I was visiting my teacher in the hospital with some friends. Turned out she kept us there to avoid dying as she helped a bastard named Hikawa destroy it. It's like the hospital was a safe zone, all as lightning rained down and killed everyone else. The world began to shift, mass deserts forming and buildings destroyed. Places like the park still being intact are a miracle, honestly. Plus--"
He points to the sky, where a bright light shone in the center of the orange sky.
"Nighttime is basically gone thanks to that thing too. Oh and nothing but the souls of the dead and demons are running about. I didn't even find my friends, so I'm worried if they are even alive."
"Oh and he got turned into a half-demon by some kid and his nanny for funsies," chirped the Pixie, shrugging. "Sounds dumb, but demons like to dick others around. My own kind is especially fond of that, like teleporting people around so they get confused."

She replied half surprised and half perplexed by the response. That's a bit heavy even for a newcomer like her but she did ask for an explanation. At the very least it explains why things seem to be out of place here and why it's a bit weird for her to not see much life around other than the buildings.
"That's pretty messed up. I mean I've seen a lot of messed up shit, but this is pretty bad. Well, I'm glad you're not looking at me like I grew a few heads or something. I promise I'm not good at lying so I wouldn't be able to lie even if I tried."
She shakes her head a bit. So he's the only human here. She's the other human here... well scratch that he's not really a human according tot he talking Pixie chick, thing, demon or whatever.
"I see. That must be rough for you. It's definitely not a good feeling to see those you care about or know get killed or die like that. It sounds pretty shitty and awful."
Ishtar seemed to at least understand his plight to some extent. She took every piece of information as best she could. After all, if she was stuck here, she better at least know how it works while she tried to find her way out of this nutshell. So it's just going to be daytime all day every day? That's gotta be one messed up system.
"Huh--- souls and demons."
She trailed off but she didn't even look a bit surprised at the response. In fact, she didn't even blink when the Pixie spoke to her.
"Yeah-- I know a few demons myself. Great and powerful allies, but huge ass dicks too."
The girl replied shaking her head, "So, you're a half demon and this pixie gal is .. also one? Haha, wow must be a trip."

Pixie on the other hand merely patted his head. "Ya know, how about we find a better place to talk about this? We aren't that safe from demons, and just talking is begging for us to be lunch."
no subject
"Y-Yeah, you're right, let's do that. The last thing we need is getting beaten by some supernatural monster or something."
She frowned, "Ya got a place we can crash at or a safe house of sorts?"
